SPACE DELMA GODOY
In July of 2002, I made a trip to the Ushuaia – El Fin Del Mundo – in the Patagônia, where I lived deeply a great spirituality, perhaps for being connected to the one cosmic solitude, superior to the wild and inhospitable environment, where my conception as plastic artist, it defined new routes in the research of new languages.
When I’m coming back, I inaugurated the DELMA GODOY SPACE, together to my atelier, with the determination to display periodically, the resultant exhibitions of these news researchs.
I initiated with the exhibition: SILENCE OF THE COLORS (2002), paintings in acrylic on screen, where I worked with the diffusion of the inks on the fabric, creating superpositions, textures and imaginary landscapes.
In March 2003, I was to make the French Way of Santiago of Compostella, where I walked 750 km, crossing a Romanic, Gothic and isolates forests in Spain.
In this trip, the physical connections spirit, it impregnated my new works, resulting in the exhibitions: SCREENS OF SANTIAGO (2004) and OF ALL MY HEART…(2005) where I iniciated a figurative work, with collages, stamps, poetries, symbols and a new signal derivative mainly of my experience as sculptress.
In 2006, in the exhibition: IMPROPER APPROPRIATED – Sculptures in polyester resin, I worked with residual fragments from my atelier. I began creating a reflection where the act of creation that leaves indelible marks, allowed me to catch a glance, as if in a daydream, of my non-transferable record of existence in the daily life of the atelier.
In 2010, in the exhibition: SONATAS IN MURMURS – digital printmaking, I investigated the previous two years from the point of view of software technology and digital cameras. This new work held an absolute fascination for me, and gave me the freedom to explore the immense availability that computerized technology now provides the plastic artist.
My playful side, it remains in all the works, allies to the organicity, transparency, research and mainly to the primordial comment.
